There are three ways to ensure that you are really getting the right stage backdrop for your production. i. Colors are truly very important when ordering for the right backdrop, because the colors you choose for stage backdrops will help the audience determine what the play is really all about. For example, if you choose a backdrop design using a lot of grey and black colors, the play will be depicted as dark and gloomy. If you go on to choose a stage backdrop with a lot of bright and attractive colors, the audience will automatically feel that the production is going to be a whole lot of fun – even if the script is absolute rubbish!

ii. Images are also very important when getting the right backdrops. You need to choose images that clearly go with the theme of the production. It is necessary that you know whether to include natural images such as flowers, trees, leaves, grasses, cattle, horses, etc. in the backdrop. A stage backdrop could even include weather images in order to enhance the look of backdrop – that is, if it will be of help to the purpose of the production. iii. Make sure that the backdrop is completely relevant to the production. You should ensure that you use any image(s) that you know for a fact will look superb – In order to achieve this, you should carry out a thorough research about the production/play. You have to be informed as to what the actors are going to be acting out so that you can make use of the relevant stage backdrop.
