EaC was hired to manufacture backdrop visuals for this production. With our 16 ft. heat press, we were able to produce a vivid, nearly seamless visual on a material that allowed the production house to create a specialized lighting effect. We also produced 15 units that looked like solid wood but became transparent when backlit. Each of these units was a different size and had to be wrapped around real wooden frames. The set designer and the production house were thrilled with the oversized fabric and it can be seen at the Paper Mill Playhouse.

Producing billboards from regular vinyl and mesh is no difficult task for EaC. Now even that was not the case last week when an event company asked for two billboards in Times Square standing side by side, imaged on different materials illuminated different but keeping a uniform look. We were commissioned to produce two billboards, each 30 feet by 50 feet, for the season opening of a TV series for the Starz Network. One billboard was to be lit from both the front and back, while the other was to be only backlit. Using both a backlit vinyl and a mesh vinyl we were able to adjust for the lighting and get both to appear as if they were lit the same way. The final result? Two large billboards and one happy customer.

Size matters. Enhance a Colour introduces 16 foot Wide Dye Sublimated Fabrics
and Promotional Carpet. First in the United States.
Danbury, CT – 30 January 2009 – Enhance a Colour has created the only 16 foot wide seamless dye sublimated printing process in the United States. Previously, only solvent processes could produce 16 foot wide fabric.“The dye sublimated printing process expands the color gamut available to our customers, making bright and vivid colors possible. With dye sublimated fabrics and carpet, the ink becomes part of the fabric. Fold it or crease it and the color will always be there. With a solvent process, the inks will only sit on the surface of the fabric. The underlying fabric color is visible at the crease and in the fold,” said Jim O’Connor, Owner and President of Enhance a Colour.
Enhance a Colour invested 22 months in the research and development effort, testing new processes, improving equipment, and identifying new sources for fabrics and carpet. “Our customers kept expressing concerns about the flat colors produced when solvent printing to fabric. They wanted dye-sub, but did not want the seams running through their graphics,” O’Connor noted. “It took some time, but now, we can offer them the same, high quality dye sublimated fabrics they are used to, but at the larger sizes their projects require.”
Enhance a Colour is offering seven fabrics and one type of promotional carpet. The fabrics are all fire retardant, in accordance with NFPA 701 Part 2 Large scale test, meeting national and many local fire requirements. The fabrics can also be machine-washed and machine-dried. Both product lines are available immediately.
