Enhance a Colour worked with River City Scenic and Gerry Hariton to create the backdrops for the show ‘Hairspray’, produced on the world’s largest cruise ship “Oasis of the Seas” owned by Royal Caribbean. Gerry wanted bright, vivid and colorful fabric backdrops. They needed them to be 13 feet tall to wrap around the wooden flats. River Scenic had tried solvent and uv ink printed fabrics but none could achieve the desired color that the designers wanted. So they decided to use Enhance a Colour’s proprietary 16 foot seamless, by any length, dye-sublimated fabric printing process. Dye-sub printing produces brighter colors and a larger color gamut. An added bonus is that the ink will not crack and the material can be washed and ironed if needed, without the color fastness will being affected. Solvent and UV inks just can’t do those type of things.
