BlueC Studios, a creative communications organization, recently turned to Enhance a Colour to produce a double-sided mobile display to serve as a visual training aid for an upcoming movie-themed training event for their client, Novartis.

EaC helped develop and refine the 9 ft. w x 6 ft. movie-set “clapper” design and then produced detailed shop drawings and elevations. EaC then constructed the frame from 2 in. extruded aluminum for stability and durability, and included rolling wheels and wheel locks.

The front side of the display featured an event-themed visual, printed full color direct to 1/4″ Sintra. The rear of the display contained a product training grid, printed with a magnetic top coat on 1/4 in. Sintra. In addition, Eac produced 24 magnetic, dry-erase panels, 16 in. wide by 8 in. high, on 1/8 in. black Sintra.

To replicate an actual “clapper,” the top section of the display was made with 2 in. aluminum and Sintra sides, highlighted by diagonally-striped 3M adhesive vinyl, and finished with a hinge and a set-pin to hold it open.

EaC designed and constructed a custom shipping crate to transport the display to the Baltimore, MD event; the crate will also be used to return the display to the EaC storage facility and held there until the next event.

Challenge: Create a double-sided, large-scale movie set “clapper” to use as a visual aid for a corporate training event

Solution: The front side of this rolling 9 ft. w x 6 ft. clapper, framed in 2 in. extruded aluminum, highlighted the event theme, printed full color direct to 1/4 in. Sintra. The reverse side featured a product training grid, printed with a magnetic top coat on 1/4 in. Sintra, with 24 magnetic, dry-erase panels on 1/8 in. black Sintra. The top “clapper” section was 2 in. aluminum – framed Sintra, covered in diagonally-striped 3M adhesive vinyl, and finished with a hinge and a set-pin to hold it open. A custom shipping crate was also built to transport and store the display between events.
