Challenge: Manhattan College wanted a custom sign for a new Admissions Department reception desk. The College wanted something that would standout when prospective students and parents were visiting the College’s campus and would show off the schools shield and the Manhattan College name. It had to be unique and not something you would find everyday.

Solution: Enhance a Colour (EaC) started with a site survey to discuss the project, take measurements and photos. The resulting design was a three dimensional sign that would be attached to the front of the desk. Utilizing our waterjet and laser cutter, we were able to create a dimensional sign out of a combination of acrylic and aluminum. The base of the 66 in. x 18 in. sign is 1/2 in. clear acrylic. Using 3M adhesives, we were able to attach 1/4 in. thick aluminum letters and the College shield, which we built from a combination of aluminum and green acrylic. Our laser cutter leaves a polished edge on the acrylic and the waterjet creates clean, metal letters, even at small sizes. Once finished in our shop, two EaC installers finished the project by affixing the sign with silver standoffs. The Admissions Department was thrilled with final results and got the one of a kind sign they were looking for.
