The client wanted us to transform the four rooms in the Pediatric ER department of Vassar Brothers Medical Center into a more child-friendly environment while still being appropriate for adult overflow. Taking cues from the wave shape of the new building and its proximity to the Walkway Over the Hudson, we developed an aquatic theme incorporating illustrations of the Hudson River from above and below the water line.

Solution:
To accommodate the need for improved hospital visuals while abiding by health and safety protocol during the early pandemic in 2020, we drafted a concept that would create an interactive environment for child patients. We installed the designed-in-house Hudson River theme using medical-grade wallpaper that can be chemically cleaned without inks being impacted.
